BTRC asks operators to introduce voicemail

The telecom regulator BTRC asked all mobile phone operators in the country to introduce voicemail services by three months.

Voicemail allow users to leave a voice message when another user cannot receive call or keep phone switched off. Later the receivers would listen the voice mail. The BTRC also ordered the phone operators to build capacity so that at least 10% of the customers use this service. But mobile phone operators are unwilling to introduce the service as it would increase their cost. Though the operators had this voice mail service earlier but stopped it in 2014 due to poor response from the customers.
